Solution to The Never Ending Soil Erosion and Degradation in Africa.

You may have come across the never ending soil erosion and degradation that pose severe problems to the economic development. The answer is afforestation, this is the coming up of a forest or stand of trees in an area where there was none at all forest. Taking into consideration the need of afforestation in Africa, many government and non-governmental organizations are engaged to create new forests through afforestation to control the soil erosion.

Besides establishing windbreaks and encouraging farmers to plant more trees, these trees prevent soil erosion, improves soil fertility, and increasing crop production since there's going to be enough rains, trees also provide fruit hence contributing to the food baskets, livestock fodder, and providing the much needed fuel-wood and materials for construction.

Planting of trees also seeks to make a contribution to reversing the loss of environmental resources and also reduce biodiversity loss. In any given country in Africa forestry has a high-impact form of land use that despite its advantages can also have a negative impact on the environment. The economic and environmental costs should be weighed in heavily against the need for timber and its products.
