Pakistan Bleeds: Bacha Khan University Attacked By Taliban Gunmen.

Bacha Khan University was on Wednesday morning attacked by gunmen that left 21 students, 1 professor, 4 gunmen,10 civilians dead  and 80+ injured. The public university is situated in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

An Army spokesperson confirmed that 4 gunmen were killed in the attack with local media reports saying that Tehreek-i-Taliban-Pakistan claimed the attack.

The Vice Chancellor said that the university has enrolled over 3,000 students and was hosting an additional 600 visitors on Wednesday for a poetry recital on the death anniversary of the Pashtun activist Abdul Ghaffar 'Bacha' Khan.

An eyewitness said he heard number of explosions after 3 attackers entered the University.
One man told reporters " we saw three terrorists shouting, 'Allah is great!' rushing towards the stairs of our department,"

In the commotion, " A student jumped out of the classroom through the window. We never saw him get up." a student described the ordeal.

A Chemistry lecturer who opened fire on Taliban militants as a way to protect his students during the deadly attack has been described by many as a "martyr" and a "gentleman".

The Lecturer, Syed Hamid Hussain who was a Chemistry assistant professor at Bacha Khan University is said to have ordered his students to stay inside as Taliban gunmen stormed the school.

As a result of him opening fire at the gunmen, students got the time to flee before he was cut down in a hail of bullets.
