KENYA: Angry residents have set on fire Embu ACK pastor's house in Springs Valley estate Embu.

This comes after he was released on cash bail on Thursday after his arrest on Wednesday.

The clergyman, 37 year-old Rev. Elijah Muchangi (Gisangi), is said to have lured a seven year old orphaned schoolgirl to his house on Tuesday evening from a nearby playground where she was playing with her friends.

Embu West police boss Francis Sang’ said the clergyman & lured the girl to his house pretending to want to send her to the shop. His wife and children were away.

The man allegedly threatened to harm her if she told anyone about the rape. “I was playing with my friends when my uncle called me to his house. He undressed me and did a bad thing to me and told me not to tell anyone about it,” the girl said.

The girl, who lives with her grandparents, had visited her uncle and she said the man waited for his wife and child to leave and then pounced on her. She said he thought he was calling her to send her to buy something from the shops.

Neighbours said they had heard rumours that one of the workers at a construction site near the estate had defiled a girl and on enquiring, they found out it was the pastor who defiled his niece.

Wolf in sheep’s clothing?...maybe the medical examination results will shed some light.
