Kenya's Gospel Artist On Road To Recovery After A Grisly Road Accident (Photos)
KENYA: Kenya's Gospel singer Mercy Masika was on Sunday morning involved in an accident on Thika road, escaping with minor injuries for which she was treated and discharged at the Aga Khan hospital, Nairobi.
They were on their way to an award ceremony in Thika in honour the famous "Wako Mwema" hitmaker.
According to Mr. Mugoro (Her Husband), "We felt there was no need for us to go to the ceremony too early and so we left Nairobi around 2am expecting to be there within 30 minutes. Mercy was in the co-driver’s seat and she had dozed off as I drove at a constant speed of 100kph. Suddenly, our car was hit from behind,"
Incidentally, the other car driver, Mr Dominic Kinyanjui, is also a gospel singer who specialises in Kikuyu songs. He was on his way home.
What might have caused the accident remains a mystery but judging from the photos making rounds on social media it’s clear that the Mercy’s car was hit from behind.
After the road accident Mercy Masika shared a photo on her Instagram account with the caption "The Lord is my banner over me and the Rock on which I stand. Praise ye the Lord all you people. Thank you for your goodwill messages and sincere prayers, I have a fresh leaf and the wind beneath my wings is Jesus."
