KENYA: The Kenya’s national rugby sevens team popularly known as #Shujaa arrived on Tuesday afternoon, April 19 on board a Qatar airways plane.

We sampled a few homecoming photos of the Shujaa back in their homeland Kenya.

Kenya 7s team showed a stunning 30-7 upset victory over Fiji in the final of the Singapore 7s on Sunday to capture their first World Series event.

Captain of the team Andrew Amonde was the first player to alight from the plane carrying the trophy as crowds cheered him.

On arrival the team was welcomed by sports CS Hassan Wario, Kenya Airways officials, Kenya Rugby union officials, fans, media and traditional dancers entertaining the players.

The 7s squad that won the Singapore Sevens Main Cup included Andrew Amonde, Collins Injera, Biko Adema, Humphrey Kayange, Oscar Ayodi, Nelson Oyoo, Frank Wanyama, Robert Ariago, William Ambaka, Augustine Lugonzo, Alvin Otieno and Samuel Oliech.

The East Africans, who had twice finished runner-up in tournaments, blew the Fijians off the park with four unanswered tries in the first half, including two by Collins Injera.

They added two more in the second half while the South Pacific Islanders only managed a consolation touchdown from Jerry Tuwai.

Below are some of their homecoming photos;
