The Senator reportedly owns a Shell petrol station in Naivasha, which has been dwindling in sales over the past few weeks with its stock virtually running out.

Because of the petrol station’s predicament, it was inevitably put under probation since November as efforts to revive it took place. The revival yielded little fruit, according to Vivo Energy CEO Igathe.

According to reports, an agitated Njoroge went to the lengths of threatening officials at the station on Saturday, February 4, a move which forced Vivo energy to consider debranding the station.

Attempts to remove the Shell logo however turned chaotic on Tuesday afternoon when Senator Njoroge, who was wielding a gun, started shooting at officials as they attempted to de-brand the station.

It was at this point that the Senator openly pointed his pistol in the glare of the public and cameras.

The Vivo CEO later recorded a statement at the Naivasha police station.
