Kenyan Woman put on Ksh. 600,000 salary without working

KENYA: A wife of a senior government official in Homabay has been put on the spotlight for drawing salary from the County government despite not being in the workforce.

She is currently being grilled for allegedly being under payroll despite not being employed by County Assembly.

According to reports, the wife has been drawing a salary of KSh 600, 000 from Homabay County though she is not employed. She has also been receiving Ksh 50, 000 from the executive wing of the county, where she is employed at a health institution.

According to commissioner of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Southern Nyanza regional offices, Abraham Kemboi, the County Assembly was under investigation for the loss of over KSh 400 million.
