BREAKING: 6 People Dead after Al-Shabaab attack 2 Buses near Elwak in Mandera County, unknown number of Passengers injured

JUST IN: At least six people have been reported dead after Al Shabaab attackers opened fire at two buses ferrying passengers in Elwak Mandera on Friday, July 1.

The attack occurred between Wargadud and Elwak where terrorists sprayed the moving buses with bullets.

The fresh attack comes only hours after the US issued a travel advisory to its citizens, citing areas such as Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and parts of coast province due to imminent attacks.

Mandera County Commissioner Fredrick Shisia told Reuters the attack happened at 9.30 am as the two buses were traveling to Mandera town from the capital Nairobi.

“Police on the scene have found six persons shot dead and have rescued two,” Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said. “The hunt for the terrorists is underway.”
