Celebrated radio presenter Waweru Mburu Dies after a long battle with cancer

KENYA: Popular citizen radio presenter Waweru Mburu is dead, he passed on at MP Shah Hospital while undergoing treatment on Wednesday, Sep 28.

The late radio presenter is said have been flown to India for treatment but returned and was booked at MP Shah Hospital.

His show, "Yaliyotendeka", discussed day to day events that affected the country with the presenter giving his opinion concerning the events especially politics.

Royal Media Service Ltd Chairman SK Macharia, Vice Chair Gathoni Macharia and Group Managing Director Wachira Waruru condoled with the family of theMburu.

Waweru Mburu is said have been flown to India for treatment but returned and was booked at MP Shah Hospital.

Macharia and Waruru termed the death of Mburu as a big blow to Royal Media Services and the media industry.

Until his death, Mburu had served Royal Media for many years and was among pioneers in radio commentary.

Waweru Mburu was a dedicated journalist, who commanded respect across the airwaves. His deep and unique voice will be dearly missed.
