Suspected terrorists attack Mombasa Central Police Station, 3 killed, 2 others arrested

KENYA: There was drama early on the morning of Sunday, September 11, as suspected bombers attacked Mombasa Central Police Station.

According to Coast county commander Peterson Maelo, three women clad in Buibui pretended that they were reporting a stolen mobile phone when one of them stabbed two officers at the report office.

One of the ladies hurled a petrol bomb at the station, setting off a fire and prompting officers to open fire on them.

Maelo says all the three attackers have been killed while the two police officers have been rushed to hospital and has termed the incident an apparent terror attack.

The three are said to have been in possession of knives and are suspected to have carried petrol bombs.

Bomb experts have been called to assess the situation.
