KENYA: Six people have perished in Mombasa following the rains on the night of Sunday, May 7.
Initial reports indicated that a woman and four kids were trapped in the rubble as rescue operations commenced.
The six were all family members and among them were four kids. The heavy rains at the scene have greatly hampered the rescue operations with residents shielding themselves with umbrellas as they dig through the rubble.
Residents who have spoken to news-people claim that the wall had been erected feebly and was a disaster in waiting.
The collapse comes just one year after a building in Huruma, Nairobi collapsed resulting in the death of 68.
