Kenyatta University Students Go on Strike.

KENYA: Kenyatta University students are on strike. All motorists have been advised to avoid section of Thika super highway at all cost.

An apparent lack of water and electricity in the institution's halls of residence has been pointed as the main cause.
The strike comes a day after Pro. Olive Mugenda left the institution. There has however been a public outcry after her "retirement package" was made public. With many claiming that it was unlawful.

Part of the package reads;
1. A Ten (10) days holiday to a country of her choice accompanied by a spouse or a friend at a cost of Kshs. 2.5million.
2. A personal vehicle of her choice as a token  of appreciation of Kshs. 10million.
3. Buying the Vice-Chancellor a retirement home by way of a flat in a suitable residential area of her choice worth Kshs. 20million.
