He died in China while undergoing Kidney treatment, his sister Eva Yemoey Mensah revealed.
The family was informed of the veterans death Monday night at about 11pm
Early last year, on January 21, 2015, Nii Odoi Mensah needed $300 weekly to stay live.
Doctors declared both kidneys incapable of performing their key functions effectively to keep him alive.
To stay alive, the actor had to spend $300 weekly on dialysis.
