Kenyans to cast their votes on Tuesday, August 8, 2017
KENYA: The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) and the Jubilee coalition have agreed on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, as the date for the next General Election.
According to TUKO, There was a standoff with the CORD division at the sitting calling for a fresh registration of voters after picking issues with the voting register.CORD maintained that the register was marred with irregularities and needed to be redone. This was opposed by Jubilee which said that only a few inconsistencies in the register needed to be amended through continuous registration.
The issue of whether results of presidential election declared at the polling station should be the final results also arose in the sitting.
CORD said that declaration of presidential results at polling stations would curb rigging.
