Kenyans woke up to the sad news on Friday 24, that Nyeri Governor Gachagua Nderitu had passed on in a London hospital while undergoing treatment.

Governor Gachagua died at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London while undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

According to his brother, Rigathi Gachagua, the governor died at 2.15am with close family members at his bedside.

Rumors of his death spread like wildfire three months ago when bloggers began the rumor that the late governor was dead after battling leukemia in an Indian hospital.
