Keep Instagram Chronological Petition.

Keep Instagram Chronological Petition.
Igers across the globe headed by Sarah Heard have begun a petition to stop Instagram from changing the order of its users feed to show the moments that they think you care about the most rather than displaying your feed in chronological order.

Is this something that the community really wants?? After what happened when Facebook switched to algorithm-based feeds, it's certainly not something that small business' will want! At the very least, shouldn't the community be able to opt-in, rather than having it mandated that this is how we will now see our feed?

On March 15th 2016, blogged;
"The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimizing the order — all the posts will still be there, just in a different order.

If your favorite musician shares a video from last night’s concert, it will be waiting for you when you wake up, no matter how many accounts you follow or what time zone you live in. And when your best friend posts a photo of her new puppy, you won’t miss it.
We’re going to take time to get this right and listen to your feedback along the way. You’ll see this new experience in the coming months."
Instagram have advised they will listen to our feedback so that they get this right. So, if you DO NOT want your feed to be presented in an order that you don't have any control over and would prefer to have it presented in the current chronological format or - AT LEAST - have the choice to sort your feed the way you want, please sign the petition so that Instagram can take our feedback on board HERE.

Here's the open letter to Instagram;
We are users of Instagram and do not want to be forced into having our feeds display in order chosen by an algorithm. We want the ability to at least choose to keep our feeds in chronological order. We believe an algorithm-based feed will be detrimental to small business owners and artists who use this platform to communicate their products and services. Not to mention the communities that have been built within Instagram.
Please listen to our feedback as users of your platform and at least give us the ability to choose how we see our feed.
