Eleven suspects In police custody after they tried to sneak Crude Weapons into Uhuru Park grounds
KENYA: Eleven suspects have been arrested and are in police custody after they tried to sneak crude weapons into Uhuru Park grounds where the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leaders will lead their supporters in parallel Madaraka Day celebrations.
Weapons found include pangas and rungus which were discovered while the culprits were being frisked on their way in.
Security has remained a priority at the location and the Opposition’s Madaraka Day fete is happening in the backdrop of violent protests by its supporters whom together with their leaders want the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission reconstituted.
