Dennis Itumbi and His PSCU Digital Team Disbanded

KENYA: State House has disbanded the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) with immediate over concerns of unstructured communications.

The Directors affected include: Munyori Buku, Senior Director Public Communications, Dennis Itumbi, Digital and Diaspora Communications Director, Eric Ng’eno, head of Messaging at the Presidency, James Kinyua, the Branding and Events Director.

In a memo signed by assistant Head of Public Service Nzioka Waita, President Uhuru Kenyatta sent packing four directors in charge of various department of the unit.

However, the Presidency retained Manoah Esipisu as the State House spokesperson and head of communication.

According to a highly placed source, the Presidency was concerned over the increasing cases of unstructured communications that have been sent out in the recent past.

The ‘strategic’ team was appointed mainly for communication linking the State House to the General Public.
