Vocal Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama Arrested Over Hate speech allegations
KENYA: Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has been arrested in his home in Gigiri. This happened after Muthama was placed under house arrest after police surrounded his home on Monday night.
Accompanying Senator Muthama were Senators James Orengo - Siaya and Hassan Omar - Mombasa.
Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri also recorded their statements in incidents that saw bodyguards being denied entry into the CID.
Other politicians who were summoned by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet are MPs Timothy Bosire - Kitutu Masaba, Moses Kuria - Gatundu South, Ferdinand Waititu - Kabete and Aisha Jumwa - Kilifi woman representative.
Controversial legislators Waititu and Kuria availed themselves at the CID headquarters on the evening of Monday June 13 where officers grilled them before allowing them to leave.
Senator Johnson Muthama is currently being grilled at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu road.
