Robbers Charged for Stealing Peter Kenneth's wife 2 Samsung Note III phones valued at Sh170,000, Nakumatt smart cards and other valuables worth Sh6.3 million

KENYA: A 53-year old man has been charged with robbery with violence in connection to the carjacking of politician Peter Kenneth's wife.

Simon Muthee was accused of committing the offence on August 6 at Kibagare way in Gigiri, with accomplices.

He was also accused of threatening to harm against Kenneth's wife, Ann Wanjiru.

Muthee denied the charges before Milimani chief resident magistrate Daniel Ogembo on Tuesday.

He was remanded until Friday when a ruling on his bail application will be delivered.

The gang said to have had a pistol, attacked Wanjiru and stolen her Sh6 million Land Rover Freelander. The vehicle was later found in Amagoro, Busia county.

The robbers also took two Samsung Note 3 phones valued at Sh170,000, Nakumatt smart cards and and other valuables worth Sh6.3 million.

Wanjiru was not harmed during the robbery.

Wanjiru has been listed as a witness in the matter.
